Slogan cancel on Birthday postcard - "Food will win the war don't waste it".  It is postmarked April 27, 1918.
There is a birthday greeting
on the picture side of the postcard.
One of the now defunct agencies during World War I, the U.S. Food Administration, under the leadership of Herbert Hoover, regulated the supply, distribution, and conservation of foods. Its Education Division collected and used hundreds of posters to encourage food conservation and production as well as to support other war-related campaigns in addition to the US Postal Service keeping that thought in front of the American public with slogan like this on the mail.
