*HARD TO FIND* 1950's Obscure Sportswear Designer "Greta Plattry Original" 3-Piece Patio Sundress Set.
Greta, (although not as well known as Claire McCardell or Bonnie Cashin), certainly held her own during her limited run as a Sportswear designer, from 1940-1966. Her designs were Ethnically influenced & of the Highest Quality. Camisole is Daffodil Yellow Cotton Floral Lace Over Rayon Taffeta. Full Rear Metal Zipper, measures
Chest-30-31”, Waist-26”, Length shoulder to hem-20".
The Skirt is The Same Yellow Cotton Lace but it's an UNDERLAY with a Dirndl Overlay of Black Sheer Organza. Skirt Measures
Waist-24" (can be moved over & give you another 1 to 1 1/4"), Length-27 1/2".
Underneath the Yellow Lace is a Lining of the Same Yellow Rayon Taffeta as the Bodice. Both the Cami & the Skirt are in OUTSTANDING Condition, NO rips/holes/tears or stains. NEXT, You ALSO Get the Incredible Black Sheer Organdy Poet's Blouse which she wore With this set. The Organdy is the same, I'm unsure if it's also by Greta but she was a Diva, so since she had this set on the hanger together, I'm goin with that. The blouse is tagged a size 34, 3/4-Length Billowy Puff Sleeves with Cuffs. Buttons down the front with delicate rhinestone embellished buttons. Blouse is in great shape with exception to a tiny 1/8" hole at left shoulder (see pic), can be patched from the rear. *Note, the Black Pleated sash shown with the Organdy Blouse is NOT included.
