Description

Fantastic, Futuristic, Experimental Missile Mail Service Sundries Dish.
Multi-Color On White Glass With Brass Ring.
Produced for the RH Donnelley Corporation.
Tests of missile mail started in 1936.  The first "successful" delivery by missile was in 1959 using a guided missile launched from the USS Barbero (a submarine) which landed at the naval air station in Mayport, Florida.  It was ultimately abandoned as not financially or logistically feasible - but it was an important message during the Cold War.
