Unique piece of equipment.  This is a "magnetic field sensor" made by Nikken.  It comes with a padded case and instructions sheet.  The 9-volt alkaline battery is not included.  It can be used to study the field around permanent magnets, coils, and electrical devices.  It features a rotating sensor tip to measure both transverse and longitudinal magnet fields.
