A few of the tubes had some cut places, so we commenced opening the worst looking tubes to see what kind of shape they were in. We quickly found that the cardboard had protected them better than we thought. We also found that the sticky liner inside the cardboard made it impossible to do a perfect inspection without running them through some kind of cleaner - and probably doing damage in the process.     New? SP USA 3MT Morse Taper Pipe Thread Reamers 5-Flute Straight .625" to .875."  Each bid quantity is for One (1) Reamer.  You may bid / buy any number, up to the total quantity available above.
    These were purchased at a lost freight liquidation a while back, and they
    appeared
    to be brand new in adhesive/protective cardboard tubes.  A few of the tubes had some cut places, so we commenced opening the worst looking tubes to see what kind of shape they were in.  We quickly found that the cardboard had protected them better than we thought.  We also found that the sticky liner inside the cardboard made it impossible to do a perfect inspection without running them through some kind of cleaner - and probably doing damage in the process.  If you do happen to get a cutting edge with a "shiner," it will be very small one.
    We discovered a few tiny nicks at the bottom of the Morse taper on some of these.  We thought they might possibly be resharps, but the nicks looked more like where they had been chucked into something - possibly the original sharpening process itself.  When we ran them over the scales, the weights showed no variation at all, so if they were resharpened, they were all done exactly alike.  Note that the flutes are only sharpened to an actual cutting edge on the bottom 2-3/4 inches.  The diameter is approximately .625" at the tip, and increases to .875" (about 2-3/4 inches up) where the sharpening stops.  Above that, the flutes are not even sharp; which leads us to think they were made to ream holes prior to threading with NPT threads.  We don't really know, but if that's the case, then you could resharpen these a gazillion times before you ran out of material.
    They are not marked as far as the tool material, but they do show a yellowish-brown color where they are sharpened, which usually indicates some cobalt content.
