    Description

    Hawaiian Islands Department of Finance Certificate of Deposit in Silver Coin.
    Face proof by American Bank Note Company in 1995 using the original plates.  Face proof only.  Gorgeous vignettes and colors.  GEM uncirculated condition.  Very wide margins and sharp corners.  Quite scarce; one of these comes available only every now and then, and some have sold for substantial sums.  This is not one of the common Republic of Hawaii notes, and it is not one of the photocopies sold by others, but rather a real intaglio print by ABNC, with the ABNC certification on the verso (see the fourth pic for a scan of the verso).  Great piece of Americana.
