This graphite foil is a very thermally stable and reflective material with a purity of 99.5%.
Made from flake graphite, its electrical and thermal properties differ when applying heat or electricity parallel to vs perpendicular to said flakes.
It is able to remain stable in a wide variety of atmospheres including inert/vacuum (3000°C), steam (850°C), and open air (510°C).
It is also very chemically inert with a ph range from 0-14, which makes it very useful as a chemical shield/gasket.
However it is not inert against strong oxidizers such as nitric and sulfuric acids.
Its low friction coefficient and self lubricating properties make it very useful for applications that require gaskets between sliding components.
The electrical resistivity is very low and has a high thermal conductivity, making it very useful for high temp gaskets, heat transfer pads, and electrodes for liquid electrolysis.
Other possible applications include EMI shielding and hot press and glasswork release foils.
