Description
Boy Scouts of America Plumb Hatcher Western Knife and Sheath. I used my allowance to buy this outfit when I was a Cub Scout way back too many years ago (1959 or so). I used it constantly through Boy Scouts (Eagle) and Explorer Scouts and Assistant Scout Master. I used it camping at the base of Mt Katahdin (Maine) and camping at Lake Lavielle (twice). Many family camping trips all over Ohio and West Virginia. Camping in Utah and the Sierras in Calif. I still use it occasionally around the house. Still sharp. The rust is superficial and I consider it patina. The leather sheath has had a hard life with dirt, mud, rain, and campfires. Two rivets have given up but the third keeps the axe in place. It's time to pass this on. You will notice that I have my initials on everything. My troop was large and in an inner-city neighborhood and it made it easier to keep track of. Ships USPS Priority.
