25¢ Washington & New Orleans Telegraph Co. Note – Mobile, AL – Civil War Money
While this 25¢ note is not actual CSA currency, it was redeemable in Confederate Notes back in the day. Issued in June 1862 by the Mobile, Alabama office of the Washington & New Orleans Telegraph Co., this note was “good for twenty-five cents in payment of messages and bills, or will be redeemed in Confederate Notes of not less than Five Dollasrs denomination, when that amount or more is presented.” This smaller-size note is hand signed.
