Description
1987 Stamp Exhibition of Southern California (SESCAL) Vermeil Special Award presented to William J. Bomar. ("Vermeil" is a French term meaning silver-gilt, which relates to the composition of the award medallion being presented.) The exhibition was held in Los Angeles, and this medallion (and the matching logo on the front of the award panel) show some beautiful Southern California landscape under the caption "Federated Philatelic Clubs of Southern California SESCAL Award." This particular award was presented for Mr. Bomar's exhibit titled "Postal Marking of U.S. Expositions -- David G. Phillips Pub. Co., Inc. -- 1986." The award panel is signed by the Chairman Judge and the Chairman on the Exhibition Committee. The award medallion itself measures 3" by 2".
