1862 State of Mississippi, Jackson, MS “Cotton Pledged” Obsolete Note
Issued on May 1, 1862 by the State of Mississippi, this One Dollar note has a blue overprint stating that it is ‘COTTON PLEDGED.” A train is featured in the center, with Ceres on the left side, and a farmer on the lower right side.
Our Civil War era Mississippi note has never been graded as far as we are aware. The scanned images are of the exact bill that you will receive.
